This model was actually pretty straight forward and not too challenging. However, I am very pleased with the end result. Only thing weird with painting this model was the silver bits kept clogging up the airbrush, but it was worth the hassle. This  thing shines like the real thing. Of course, no battle damage cause these things were never really just damaged, just destroyed, if we eliminate Scar.

In April of 2012 I got the Viper Mk II fighter by Moebius. As with the BSG model, I will post pictures here as well. A couple interesting things about this model. They supply you with the red stripes as decals, however, they also provide you with the decals such as logos and such in case you want to paint your own stripes. Which is exactly what I did… to an extent. For the stripes I actually taped an outline using the decals and then simply removed the decal to have the outline of the stripe and then simply painted it in. I think this gives the model a much better look without the reflective properties the decals sometimes have. I also decided to apply battle damage paint to this model. I did this because, when you watch the  series, how often do you see these things in good condition (excluding Kara’s Viper). Never. As my first attempt at any attempt at battle damage, I think it turned out pretty well.

I mean, who doesn’t like BSG?

Back in March I received the BSG model by Moebius. Here are some pictures of it being assembled and painted. As you can see from the pictures, the painting is done with an airbrush. Some minor warping of the plastic made assembling the front of the ship rather hard to ensure proper connection with the rest of the ship, but a crap load of rubber bands and a few hours of letting the glue dry did a nice job.
